Double Black Imaging started in 2002 with a simple question: 
How do you make medical imaging more efficient without making it more complicated? 

Having spent over 25 years working with high-performance displays, Joe Lloyd built the company around two ideas: 

  • Get the technology right

  • Treat customers like people you plan to know for a long time

These principles still set the standard today, carried forward by the team of industry veterans Joe built around them.

The name was born from the company’s Colorado roots. Double Black Diamonds mark the most demanding runs on the mountain, the ones that reward skill and preparation. Radiology asks the same of the tools it depends on, we wanted a name that respects that.

In 2017, we acquired the Image Systems display division from Richardson Electronics. The move expanded our product line, grew the base of customers who rely on us, and deepened the engineering expertise behind every system we ship.

Today we develop our CFS Calibration Suite® entirely in the USA, test and  integrate 100% of our display systems in Colorado. 

This is not a marketing line. This is how our team stays in control of quality and compatibility, and ensures you get the correct answer when something needs attention.
