3MP NDT & Industrial Radiography Display
The DBI 3MP color NDT display is built for everyday industrial radiography review. It renders DICOM-calibrated grayscale for digital radiography, computed radiography, and general RT inspection, so weld and casting indications read consistently from one shift to the next. A built-in front sensor holds the screen to the DICOM grayscale standard, and every unit is paired with CFS and serviced in the USA.

Built for DICONDE Workflows
Engineered for Industrial Radiographic Review
The 3MP color NDT display combines DICOM-calibrated grayscale, automated QA, and USA-based service in one inspection-grade display. It is purpose-built for weld inspection, DR/CR review, and high-volume radiographic QA.
Calibrated Grayscale for Defect Detection
See the Low-Contrast Indications a Standard Monitor Hides
Industrial radiographs carry far more grayscale information than an office monitor can show. High bit-depth processing and full-screen uniformity correction render porosity, cracks, and inclusions consistently across the whole panel. A high, stable calibrated luminance keeps low-contrast detail visible where standard monitors would compress it.
- High Bit-Depth Grayscale Processing
- Luminance Uniformity Correction
- High, Stable Calibrated Luminance
- Wide Viewing Angle for Collaborative Review
- Color for Annotated and False-Color Methods
Automated Calibration with CFS
Calibration, Conformance, and Fleet Management
A built-in front sensor measures the screen and calibrates it automatically, on a schedule or on demand. DBI’s CFS Calibration Suite holds the display to the DICOM grayscale standard, logs conformance for audit, and sends an alert when any display drifts out of tolerance. CFS manages a single station or an entire fleet from one console.
- Front-Sensor Automatic Calibration
- Calibrated to the DICOM GSDF (DICOM Part 14)
- CFS Local Agent and WebManager Included
- Automated Conformance Reporting for Audit
- Fleet-Wide Calibration and Drift Alerts
Stable Performance in Real Inspection Conditions
Calibration That Holds as Conditions Change
Inspection areas are rarely dark and rarely constant. A backlight sensor and digital ambient light compensation keep luminance and grayscale steady as room light changes, and scheduled conformance checks maintains the target across the service life. The image looks the same from install to year five.
- Integrated Front Sensor for True Auto-Calibration
- Backlight Sensor for Long-Term Stability
- Digital Ambient Light Compensation
- Scheduled Conformance and Calibration via CFS
- Consistent Output Over time

3MP NDT FAQs
What is the 3MP color NDT display used for?
It is a general-purpose industrial radiography review display for weld inspection, DR and CR review, and routine RT quality control. It suits QA stations and field-review setups that need one dependable, calibrated screen.
What is DICONDE, and is this display built for DICONDE workflows?
DICONDE is the digital NDT imaging standard (ASTM E2339), based on DICOM. The display is calibrated to the DICOM grayscale standard used for DICONDE review, so it presents DICONDE images with consistent grayscale.
Why use a calibrated display instead of a high resolution computer monitor?
A radiograph holds far more grayscale than an 8-bit monitor on a consumer curve can show, so low-contrast indications get compressed or clipped. A display calibrated to the DICOM GSDF preserves those gray levels and produces a QA record the office monitor cannot.
How does Auto-Calibration work?
A built-in front sensor measures the screen and CFS corrects it to the target curve on a schedule or on demand. No external puck or manual routine is required.
Can it display color, or only grayscale?
It does both. Grayscale handles radiographs; color supports annotated presentation states and false-color methods such as some UT or thermography displays.
Does this support fleet calibration across multiple stations?
Yes. CFS WebManager calibrates, monitors, and reports across an entire fleet from one console, with alerts when any display drifts out of tolerance.
Is it suitable for field or portable DR review?
Yes. Its single-screen footprint and stable calibration make it a practical choice for field and portable digital radiography review where consistency matters.
What standards are relevant to NDT display use?
DICONDE (ASTM E2339) governs NDT image format and exchange; ASTM E3147 covers DICONDE interoperability. Your customer, Level III, Nadcap, or ISO requirements set the acceptance criteria for the overall workflow.
